US, Uzbekistan Expand Investment Cooperation in Samarkand
Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) — A delegation from Uzbekistan’s Samarkand region led by regional governor Adiz Boboev held a series of meetings in the United States focused on expanding investment cooperation and developing human capital in the region.
During talks with Sangita Capital Partners, a member of the Missouri Entrepreneurs Club, the sides discussed attracting direct investment, asset and portfolio management, and strategic business support.
Company head Anthony Sansone presented the organization’s core activities, noting that it operates on an active partnership model, participating not only as an investor but also in project implementation.
The governor presented investment opportunities in Samarkand region, highlighting ongoing reforms and favorable conditions for foreign investors, as well as priority areas for capital investment.
Both sides said strengthened cooperation could serve as a basis for implementing significant regional projects. Preliminary agreements were reached on expanding investment ties and building long-term partnerships.
Separately, the delegation held talks with Webster University President Tim Keane, focusing on educational cooperation and workforce development. Special attention was given to cybersecurity and cybercrime prevention, as well as improving practical skills-based training systems.
The sides discussed the possibility of launching joint academic programs, faculty exchanges, and professional development initiatives. They also considered aligning curricula with labor market needs and introducing international educational practices.
Both sides expressed readiness to expand cooperation and implement joint initiatives aimed at developing a modern educational environment in Samarkand region.
