Uzbekistan registers 507,000 rental agreements in Q1

Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) — Uzbekistan’s tax authorities have registered around 507,000 rental agreements, generating a total of 299 billion soums in accrued taxes.

The majority of these contracts were concluded between individuals. A total of 229.3 billion soums in personal income tax was accrued from 359,700 such agreements.

Compared to January–March 2025, the number of registered agreements increased by 19.3%, while the total amount of accrued tax rose by 45.1%.

In the segment of agreements between legal entities, 140,100 contracts were registered, generating 69.7 billion soums in taxes. On a year-on-year basis, the number of such agreements grew by 25.5%, while tax revenues increased by 19.3%.

Tax incentives for landlords renting housing to students remain in effect. Income from such rentals is exempt from taxation.

In the first quarter of 2026, the total volume of granted tax benefits reached 28.3 billion soums. During this period, more than 77,800 rental agreements were concluded with students, and the total number of student tenants reached 108,741.
