Uzbekistan promotes tourism at ITB China Shanghai
Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) — On 26 May, the international tourism exhibition ITB China, one of the largest professional platforms for the tourism industry in Southeast Asia, opened in Shanghai.
The event is attended by a delegation from Uzbekistan led by the Chairman of the Tourism Committee, A. Akkulov. Around one thousand companies and organizations from more than 85 countries are also participating in the exhibition, representing the tourism, gastronomy, logistics, tourism technology, and international consulting sectors.
As part of the exhibition, the head of the Uzbek delegation held talks with the Chief Executive Officer of one of China’s largest travel companies, Shanghai Jinjiang Travel Holdings, Xu Weiwei, as well as with the Chief Executive Officer of Spring Travel, Sophia Shao. The meetings focused on expanding tourist flows from China to Uzbekistan and developing new areas of cooperation.
It was noted that this year’s ITB China exhibition focuses on four key areas: premium tourism, international cruise routes, ecological and sports tourism, and educational travel. The forum presents new tourism products, modern solutions, and opportunities for international cooperation.
More than 20,000 tourism service providers are expected to participate in the event, while the number of B2B meetings between participants is projected to exceed 38,000.
The Tourism Committee emphasized that Uzbekistan’s participation in the exhibition creates additional opportunities to promote the country’s tourism potential among leading Chinese tour operators, online platforms, investors, and representatives of airlines.
In addition, participation in ITB China will expand cooperation between Uzbek and foreign tourism companies and present opportunities in cultural, gastronomic, and MICE tourism in Uzbekistan to the Asian market.
Within the framework of the exhibition program, the Uzbek delegation also plans to hold a series of meetings on attracting premium segment tourists and expanding the activities of international companies in the country’s tourism sector.
