Uzbekistan Legislative Chamber Reviews Mobilization Bill
Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) — The Legislative Chamber of the Oliy Majlis of the Republic of Uzbekistan has reviewed in the first reading a draft law “On Mobilization Preparation and Mobilization.”
The document is aimed at establishing a unified legal framework in the field of mobilization preparation and mobilization, as well as regulating relevant public relations.
The draft law defines the main goals, principles, and areas of mobilization preparation, and establishes the powers and responsibilities of state bodies, organizations, and local self-government authorities.
It also sets out legal definitions of the terms “mobilization preparation” and “mobilization,” as well as the procedure for declaring general or partial mobilization and mechanisms for transitioning the economy to wartime functioning.
Measures are also provided to ensure the stable operation of essential systems, including food supply, healthcare, transport, communications, and energy.
In addition, the draft law establishes social guarantees for citizens called up during mobilization, including job retention, deferral of credit obligations, and compensation payments.
Following the discussion, the draft law was adopted in the first reading by the Legislative Chamber of the Oliy Majlis and forwarded for further consideration in accordance with the established procedure.
