Uzbekistan Central Bank Reviews 30 Banking Issues in April 2026
Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) — In April 2026, the Banking Supervision Committee of the Central Bank of the Republic of Uzbekistan held six meetings and reviewed 30 issues, the regulator said.
The majority of agenda items — 21 in total — concerned the registration and licensing of credit institutions. The committee considered four cases involving the registration of amendments to the charters of banks and other credit organizations, as well as one issue related to permission to acquire a share in the charter capital of a credit institution.
Separately, the committee reviewed the issuance of a qualification certificate for an auditor, granting the right to conduct audits in the banking sector. In addition, 15 decisions were approved regarding the appointment of members of supervisory boards and management boards of commercial banks, as well as employees holding key positions in financial institutions.
Another nine issues concerned the assessment of the financial condition of credit organizations. These discussions covered compliance with Central Bank requirements and prudential standards, as well as the results of inspections and supervisory reviews conducted at banks and non-bank credit organizations.
Following the review of identified violations and non-compliance with regulatory requirements, enforcement measures were applied to certain market participants. The measures affected two banks and two microfinance organizations.
