Samarkand launches helicopter tours for tourists

Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) — Helicopter sightseeing tours have been launched in Samarkand, offering tourists aerial views of the Silk Road Samarkand international tourist center and the Zarafshan National Nature Park.

According to organizers, the new service began on May 13 and was implemented by the Samarkand Regional Tourism Department in cooperation with a local entrepreneur. The initiative is aimed at further enhancing the city’s tourism appeal.

The tourist helicopter can carry up to five passengers at a time. Each flight lasts 15 minutes, and the ticket price is set at 1.6 million Uzbek soums per person.

To support operations, a dedicated takeoff and landing площадка has been prepared within the Silk Road Samarkand complex.

Officials also reported that construction of a cable car within the complex is nearing completion, which is expected to become another tourism attraction in the city.
