International “Icebreaker of Knowledge” Project Attracts Over 1,400 Students

Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) — The selection process continues for the VII International scientific and educational project “Icebreaker of Knowledge,” organized by Rosatom. Winners of the project will have the opportunity to join an Arctic expedition to the North Pole aboard the nuclear-powered icebreaker “50 Years of Victory.”

According to organizers, more than 1,400 school students from different countries took part in the project during the first two weeks of registration. Participants include representatives from Uzbekistan, Kazakhstan, China, India, Turkey, Egypt, Brazil, South Africa, and other countries.

Organizers note that the number of participants has already exceeded previous seasons, reflecting growing international interest in scientific, technological, and educational initiatives related to Arctic exploration and nuclear technologies.

In the first stage, students completed an intellectual quiz dedicated to the Arctic, science, and modern technologies. Participants who successfully passed the tasks have already moved on to the second stage of the selection process.

They are now required to take part in a series of educational webinars on advanced technological solutions developed by Rosatom, followed by additional assignments based on the studied material.

Deputy Director General for Communications of Rosatom International Network, Alexandra Yustus, noted that the first stage demonstrated a high level of preparation and motivation among participants, as well as growing youth interest in modern technologies and scientific research.

The selection process is being conducted on the platform goarctic.energy. Participants can complete the first and second stages of selection until June 3.

According to the results of the competition, ten finalists will be selected in each country based on the highest scores. They will proceed to the final stage, where they will present their own ideas in the form of a video presentation.

Winners of the project will travel in August 2026 on an Arctic expedition to the North Pole aboard the nuclear icebreaker “50 Years of Victory.”

Experts note that the “Icebreaker of Knowledge” project is becoming one of the largest international youth platforms bringing together school students interested in science, ecology, engineering, and future technologies.

According to specialists, participation of young people from Central Asian countries, including Uzbekistan, reflects the region’s growing interest in scientific and educational cooperation, development of engineering competencies, and international research initiatives.
