Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) — A high-level delegation led by the Chief Executive of the Hong Kong Special Administrative Region (HKSAR), John Lee, will visit Uzbekistan from 3 to 5 June 2026 as part of a major Central Asia mission.

According to organizers, the mission aims to strengthen trade and investment ties, enhance regional connectivity, and expand cooperation between China, Hong Kong, and Central Asian countries.

The delegation includes government representatives and business leaders from Hong Kong, as well as companies operating in trade, finance, logistics, infrastructure, energy, mining, chemicals, pharmaceuticals, and automotive industries. It is noted that this will be the largest Hong Kong business mission to the region to date.

The visit is organized by the HKSAR government in cooperation with the Hong Kong Trade Development Council (HKTDC). For the first time, media representatives have also been included in the delegation.

The main objective of the visit is to expand economic cooperation between Hong Kong and Uzbekistan, develop cross-border investment opportunities, and strengthen business relations. The mission also aims to promote Hong Kong as a platform for Uzbek companies to access the Guangdong–Hong Kong–Macao Greater Bay Area and other Chinese markets.

The visit follows recent bilateral contacts, including a trip by Uzbek Prime Minister Abdulla Aripov to Hong Kong, during which 15 agreements were signed across various sectors.

During the upcoming visit, meetings are planned with representatives of the Government of Uzbekistan, business circles, and major companies to discuss trade, investment, infrastructure, and financial cooperation.
