Youth entrepreneurship to be developed in Uzbekistan
Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) — The President of Uzbekistan, Shavkat Mirziyoyev, has signed a resolution aimed at developing youth entrepreneurship and creating new jobs.
As part of this initiative, the "Youth Business" program will be implemented from 2025 to 2027, targeting 350,000 young people and creating at least 100,000 new jobs for citizens aged 18 to 30.
A key element of the program will be designating "Alokabank" as the base "youth bank," specializing in providing comprehensive services to young entrepreneurs, including financial support for their activities.
Additionally, preferential financing will be allocated for youth investment and startup projects, enabling the development of modern entrepreneurial skills.
Special attention will be given to supporting innovative projects in various sectors of the economy, including the implementation of digital technologies.
Social entrepreneurship will also receive support, creating further opportunities for young people focused on addressing pressing societal issues.
According to the resolution, entrepreneurs benefiting from the program's support measures will be exempt from paying bank account service fees.
Moreover, by 1 April 2025, the "Young Entrepreneurs" digital platform will be launched, providing convenient access to support programs.
By 1 March 2025, the "Alokabank" project supporting innovative youth ideas, commercializing scientific research, and funding technological developments will be launched in all regions of the country. Qualified specialists will be involved in regional branches for its effective operation.
Starting from 1 April 2025, "Investor Days" will be held monthly in one of Uzbekistan's regions, aimed at establishing partnerships between startups and potential investors. These events will also foster collaboration with higher education institutions, integrating young entrepreneurs into the business environment.
By the end of 2025, the number of startups successfully completing acceleration and incubation programs will reach 200. "Youth Business Incubator" centers will be established in the regions, offering comprehensive support for young entrepreneurs. These centers will provide consultations, accounting and legal services, and fully equipped office spaces, creating favorable conditions for professional growth and the development of successful businesses.
