World Bank and Uzbekistan discuss strategies to attract investment into pharmaceutical sector
Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) — Abdulla Azizov, Director of the Agency for the Development of the Pharmaceutical Industry, held talks with a delegation from the World Bank to discuss prospects for attracting private investment into Uzbekistan’s pharmaceutical sector.
The meeting focused on strategic approaches to the industry’s growth, its significance for the national healthcare system, and its role in driving industrial development.
Particular emphasis was placed on identifying and analyzing the key factors hindering greater private sector involvement in the pharmaceutical field. Both sides highlighted the urgent need to address regulatory and policy challenges, as well as to implement regional infrastructure initiatives.
The discussions concluded with a shared understanding of the importance of engaging international partners to ensure effective governance of the sector and to support its long-term sustainable development.
