Uzmetkombinat is absolutely leader in structure of sales with ferrous metals. Share of local monopolist in total volume of trades at the UZEX made up 88.5%. Tashkent-based Nur Pulat Savdo LLC is on the second place with the share of 11.5% (last year 0.7%). The volume of sales of Ferghana-based All Metall Invest LLC reached 9 tonnes (0.01%).
However, Ferghana-based enterprise realizes own products compared to Nur Pulat Savdo. From 2006, the enterprise only sells metal-roll of foreign production. In May 2011, All Metall Invest launched own capacities on production of ferrous metal-roll.
According to All Metall Invest, daily production volume of the enterprise will reach 70 tonnes. In early stages of production, the enterprise produced several types of armatures. In future, it is planned to launch production of corner metals.
UZEX said that armature leads in structure of ferrous metal-roll sales (42.8% of total sales of metal-roll). The volume of sales of the segment at UZEX made up 12,000 tonnes in past period of 2011. The prices for armature of Uzmetkombinat in 2011 were between 2.358 million soums per tonne in January and 3.407 million soums per tonne in August.
Exchange offers of steel corners, which occupies second place (23%) in total structure of sales, grew twice compared to the same period of 2010. The prices for this product were stable – between 2 million soums and 2.2 million soums per tonne. UZEX believes that the positive price trend is connected with the growth of offers, which grew up to 60 tonnes in the past period of 2011.
The volume of sales of steel plate grew almost 40 times in the past period of 2011 compared to the same period of 2010. Currently, its share makes up 7.9% in the structure of sales of ferrous metals. Nur Pulat Savdo offers steel plates at UZEX and it realized 28 types of steel plate in past period of 2011. The prices for steel plate fluctuated between 2.841 million soums per tonne in January to 3.073 million soums per tonne in August.
According to the UZEX, over half of sold ferrous metals (51.3%) fell to share of Tashkent city and Tashkent region. At the same time, the share of Tashkent region decreased due to growth of sales in Kashkadarya region (11.7% in total sales volume), Namangan region (7.4%) and Navoi region (9%).
