Uzbekneftegaz signs four-party agreement on sustainable development and decarbonization during visit to Kazakhstan
Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) — An official visit of the JSC “Uzbekneftegaz” delegation, led by the Chairman of the Board, took place in Astana, the capital of the Republic of Kazakhstan.
The visit was timed to coincide with participation in the Astana International Forum, held under the auspices of the President of Kazakhstan, as well as the signing of a four-party Cooperation Agreement on Decarbonization and Sustainable Initiatives.
The agreement was signed by JSC “Uzbekneftegaz,” JSC NC “KazMunayGas,” PJSC “Tatneft,” and SOCAR (State Oil Company of Azerbaijan Republic). It aims to implement joint projects focused on reducing the carbon footprint, promoting environmentally sustainable solutions, and introducing advanced “green” technologies within the oil and gas sector.
The partnership between JSC “Uzbekneftegaz” and JSC NC “KazMunayGas” demonstrates steady progress and is reaching a new qualitative level. Their cooperation covers key areas including geological exploration, development of the gas chemical complex, localization of production, and implementation of innovative technological solutions focused on environmental safety. Both parties reaffirmed their mutual interest in further expanding cooperation and carrying out new joint initiatives, underscoring the strategic importance of the partnership for the sustainable development of the energy sectors in both countries.
During the visit, a series of bilateral meetings also took place between the JSC “Uzbekneftegaz” delegation and the leadership of PJSC “Tatneft” and SOCAR. The discussions addressed the current status of joint projects as well as prospective directions for cooperation, including geological exploration, gas chemical development, adoption of advanced technologies, and the implementation of sustainable energy initiatives.
The visit confirmed a high level of mutual trust between the national energy companies and marked an important milestone in strengthening regional cooperation amid the global energy transition.
