Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) — The Ministry of Investment, Industry and Trade of the Republic of Uzbekistan held a meeting between Deputy Minister Akram Aliyev and Diana Tsutieva, partner at the international law firm Foley Hoag LLP and an expert in public international law and investment arbitration.

Foley Hoag LLP is one of the leading international law firms, renowned for its expertise in international law, particularly in defending states' interests in cross-border investment disputes and arbitration.

During the talks, both sides discussed prospects for expanding cooperation in key areas such as improving investment policy, enhancing the legal protection of investment agreements, developing pre-arbitration dispute resolution mechanisms, applying counterclaims, and introducing international standards established by the Organisation for Economic Co-operation and Development (OECD) and the United Nations Commission on International Trade Law (UNCITRAL).

Special attention was given to strengthening the institutional framework and building a sustainable legal mechanism to protect Uzbekistan’s interests in the international investment environment. The meeting was held in a constructive spirit and marked an important step toward deepening international legal cooperation.
