Uzbekistan Wins Three Gold Medals at Junior World Judo Championship
Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) — The Junior World Judo Championship kicked off today in Sofia, Bulgaria.
On the very first day of the competition, the Uzbekistan national team achieved an outstanding result, winning three gold medals — a historic first for the team at junior world championships.
The gold medalists are: Dilafruz Boltaboyeva (under 40 kg), Khushnud Sultonov (under 50 kg), and Khushnud Burkhanov (under 55 kg).
Particular attention is drawn to Dilafruz Boltaboyeva’s victory. Ten years after Diyora Keldiyorova, she became the second Uzbek judoka to reach the top of the podium in her age category at the World Championship.
