Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) — The Uzbekistan women’s U-19 national handball team has been disqualified from the Asian Championship currently taking place in Tashkent.

This decision came despite the team having already secured a place in the semifinals and qualifying for the 2026 World Championship.

All of Uzbekistan’s match results have been annulled. As a result, the Chinese Taipei team advanced to the semifinals in their place.

So far, the Handball Federation of Uzbekistan has not issued any official comments regarding the reasons for the disqualification.

The Asian Women’s U-19 Championship is being held in Tashkent from 20 to 29 August.
