Uzbekistan to accelerate development of dairy farming
Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) — Uzbekistan will accelerate the development of its dairy farming sector as part of the second phase of the “Value Chain Development Program in the Dairy Sector,” implemented with the support of the International Fund for Agricultural Development (IFAD).
A corresponding Presidential Decree, issued on 14 May 2025, outlines the key goals and targets of this large-scale initiative.
Specifically, the project aims to establish 100 milk collection centers, which will serve around 12,000 dairy farms and households across 320 settlements in five regions: Jizzakh, Kashkadarya, Syrdarya, Samarkand, and Surkhandarya.
The program also provides for concessional loans of up to USD 250,000 for 865 individuals and farming enterprises to support the establishment and modernization of milk processing facilities.
In addition, a national digital platform for the dairy industry will be launched to connect producers and buyers, promoting efficient interaction across the market.
The project will be implemented over a seven-year period, from 2025 to 2031. This comprehensive effort aims to enhance the productivity and sustainability of Uzbekistan’s dairy sector and develop a robust value chain for dairy production and processing.
