Uzbekistan simplifies tax overpayment calculation procedures
Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) — The Legislative Chamber of the Oliy Majlis has reviewed a draft law introducing amendments and additions to several legislative acts of Uzbekistan.
In recent years, the country has undertaken large-scale efforts to eliminate bureaucratic and administrative barriers in public services, with a strong focus on supporting citizens and entrepreneurs while improving tax administration.
However, the need remains to enhance the effectiveness of the social protection system, introduce additional tax benefits for certain categories of citizens, and further simplify tax administration.
The proposed amendments to the Tax Code aim to optimize the process of offsetting overpaid taxes against future payments for other types of taxes, expand the list of tax benefits for specific population groups, and improve tax administration efficiency.
Lawmakers highlighted that the bill strengthens the legal framework, providing additional conveniences for taxpayers and ensuring the protection of their legal rights.
Additionally, the draft law includes provisions to support individuals involved in mitigating the consequences of the Chernobyl nuclear disaster and measures to improve tax administration related to the efficient use of water resources in agriculture.
According to deputies, the adoption of this law will create more favorable conditions for taxpayers, enhance the effectiveness of the social protection system, and improve tax administration.
Following discussions, the bill was approved and adopted.
