Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) — From 5 to 17 June 2025, the Tourism Committee of the Republic of Uzbekistan carried out a large-scale cultural and gastronomic roadshow titled “Caravan of Uzbekistan” across six historic and major cities in the United Kingdom — Edinburgh, Manchester, Liverpool, Cardiff, Oxford, and London.

The main goal of this initiative was to promote Uzbekistan’s tourism potential internationally, strengthen cultural ties with the British public, and raise awareness of the country as an attractive travel destination. Particular emphasis was placed on showcasing Uzbek hospitality and culinary heritage.

Renowned chef Bakhriddin Chustiy and the team from the London-based Uzbek restaurant OshPaz introduced traditional national dishes to the British audience, accompanying each tasting with stories about Uzbekistan’s history and cultural legacy. Guests enthusiastically explored the country’s rich culinary traditions while enjoying live music, folk melodies, and an immersive atmosphere of Eastern festivity.

In every city, the “Caravan” participants were met with genuine interest and a warm welcome. Locals eagerly joined the festive events, sampled traditional dishes, and shared enthusiastic feedback about their experience.

The grand finale of the roadshow will take place on June 21–22 in London, with a major festival celebrating Uzbek tourism, culture, and cuisine at the scenic Potters Field Park, in front of the iconic Tower Bridge. This culminating event of the “Caravan of Uzbekistan” will bring together residents and visitors of the British capital in a spirit of intercultural dialogue and friendship.

The Caravan of Uzbekistan project not only contributed to enhancing the country’s international image but also laid a strong foundation for further development of cultural and tourism ties with the United Kingdom. Initiatives like this are expected to significantly boost foreign interest in Uzbekistan as a unique travel destination.
