Uzbekistan produces 1.099m tonnes of cotton-fiber in 2011

The production of knitwork in Uzbekistan grew by 4.9% year-on-year in 2011 to 68 million units, the committee added.

In the reporting period, Uzbekistan increased production of ready-made garments by 70.6% to 52.2 billion soums. Production of silk threads rose by 43.4% to 166.4 tonnes.

Uzbekistan also manufactured 1.025 million square meters of fabrics with use of chemical fibers in 2011, which rose 2.5% more year-on-year.

Production of hosiery jumped 3.6 times t 1.744 million pairs. The country also produced 9.165 million square decimeters of leather goods.
