Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) — The first Uzbekistan Trade House has officially opened in Lahore, Pakistan, the Chamber of Commerce and Industry (CCI) announced.

The grand opening ceremony took place on June 2 with participation from the CCI delegation, local government officials, and Pakistani business representatives.

The new trade center will serve as a platform to establish direct business contacts between entrepreneurs from both countries. The exhibition features Uzbek-made products such as dried fruits, leather goods, yarn, medicines, medical equipment, chemical products, and other export items.

The CCI also announced that an Uzbekistan-Pakistan business forum will be held in Karachi on 25 June. 

The previous forum was held in Tashkent in February this year. Following that event, both sides agreed to hold business events at least twice a year, organize mutual visits of entrepreneurs at the regional level, and expand business missions.

The countries aim to increase bilateral trade turnover to a target of US$2 billion.

To achieve this, plans include expanding the list of goods covered by the preferential trade agreement, simplifying customs and phytosanitary procedures, establishing efficient interbank settlements, and integrating electronic trade platforms.
