Uzbekistan–Malaysia Business Forum Held in Tashkent
Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) — On 24 June, the Uzbekistan–Malaysia Business Forum was held in Tashkent with the aim of strengthening trade and economic cooperation between the two countries.
The opening ceremony featured welcoming remarks by Dato Sri King Lim, President of the Malaysia–Uzbekistan Business Association (MUBA), Jamshid Kuchkarov, Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Economy and Finance of the Republic of Uzbekistan, and on behalf of the Malaysian delegation, Fadillah bin Yusof, Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Energy Transition and Water Resources.
The forum focused in particular on the prospects for socio-economic ties between Uzbekistan and Malaysia, the creation of an open and investor-friendly environment, and the current conditions supporting such efforts.
Participants exchanged views on expanding cooperation in the fields of energy, trade, industry, infrastructure, and services.
The main part of the event included presentations by representatives of various ministries and agencies. These highlighted ongoing reforms in Uzbekistan’s energy sector, collaborative projects with Malaysia, marketing aspects of bilateral trade, the advantages of Uzbekistan's investment climate, the country's economic potential, and the legal framework for business cooperation.
In addition to the official presentations, the forum provided a space for direct B2B interactions between entrepreneurs from Uzbekistan and Malaysia. New ideas and proposals were discussed to strengthen partnerships, and a number of agreements were reached.
The forum also featured a formal document exchange ceremony between the two sides.
The Uzbekistan–Malaysia Business Forum served as an important platform for further deepening trade and economic ties, enhancing investment cooperation, and advancing mutually beneficial projects between the two countries.
