Uzbekistan–Georgia Business Forum takes place in Tashkent

Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) — On 21 May, during the visit of a delegation led by Giorgi Pertaia, President of the Georgian Chamber of Commerce and Industry, the Uzbekistan–Georgia Business Forum and a meeting of the Business Council took place in Tashkent.

The event was attended by Davron Vakhabov, Chairman of the Chamber of Commerce and Industry of Uzbekistan, representatives of relevant ministries and agencies, heads of industry associations, and around 300 business representatives from both countries.

According to 2024 trade statistics, the volume of mutual trade between Uzbekistan and Georgia increased by 23% and reached US$213 million. Uzbek exports totaled US$60.5 million, while imports from Georgia amounted to US$153.2 million.

Currently, 60 enterprises with Georgian capital are operating in Uzbekistan, including 31 joint ventures and 29 fully owned by Georgian investors.

Opening the forum, Davron Vakhabov expressed gratitude to the Georgian side for organizing such a prominent and high-level delegation, noting that the forum provides an effective platform for strengthening business ties, launching new joint projects, and increasing bilateral trade.

During the event, international guests were presented with detailed information about Uzbekistan’s favorable business conditions and the wide array of opportunities across various industrial sectors.

Particular attention was paid to the strong potential for expanding cooperation in areas such as logistics, agriculture, healthcare, the food and textile industries, tourism, wholesale trade, and other sectors.

Additionally, the forum featured B2B and G2B meetings, where participants discussed practical issues related to establishing joint ventures and concluding mutually beneficial trade agreements.
