Uzbekistan discusses prospects for cooperation with Škoda Group
Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) — On 18 March, Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Economy and Finance of Uzbekistan Jamshid Kuchkarov met with Petr Novotny, Chairman of the Executive Board and CEO of Škoda Group.
The discussion was also attended by the company’s Vice President for Sales Roman Sorkin, Deputy Minister of Economy and Finance of Uzbekistan Khurshed Mustafayev, and other officials.
Škoda Group is the largest engineering holding in the Czech Republic, specializing in the production of transport vehicles and their components. Its structure includes Škoda Transportation, which manufactures trams, electric locomotives, and other types of public transport, as well as Škoda Auto, which has been part of the Volkswagen Group since 1991.
The meeting focused on cooperation prospects in transport development, particularly the modernization of railway infrastructure. Key topics included the renewal of rolling stock, the introduction of advanced and energy-efficient technologies, the application of international expertise in the railway sector, and the exchange of knowledge and technologies for the production of next-generation trains.
Both parties expressed their willingness to continue dialogue and expand their partnership in railway transport development.
