Uzbekistan Begins Direct Transport of Heavy and Oversized Cargo from Inland Regions of China

Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) — Due to the implementation of large-scale investment projects in Uzbekistan’s industrial, energy, construction, and other sectors, the demand for international transportation of oversized and heavy non-standard cargo is increasing. This was reported by the Ministry of Transport of Uzbekistan.

Such cargo includes super-heavy equipment, industrial units, power plant installations, as well as metal structures that cannot be dismantled without damage. In logistics, these operations are known as project cargo shipments.

For the first time, Uzbek national carriers have started direct delivery of this type of equipment by road transport from manufacturing enterprises located in China.

Currently, modules weighing over 270 tons each are being transported from China to the Surkhandarya region on specialized vehicles. This equipment is intended for a thermal power plant under construction in the region.

Transportation is carried out along a pre-approved route and based on the necessary permits.
