Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) — On 22 August, the Ministry of Investment, Industry and Trade of the Republic of Uzbekistan hosted a meeting between Deputy Minister Ilzat Kasimov and Deputy General Director of the Chinese company Tianjin Rail Transit Group, Ma Yunkan.

During the talks, the parties discussed prospective projects in the development of the metro and railway transport. The Chinese company expressed interest in participating in the reconstruction of existing lines of the Tashkent metro, as well as in the construction of new routes.

It was emphasized that the implementation of the planned projects will further modernize the country’s transport infrastructure and provide the population with convenient and modern means of transportation.

The two sides also considered key areas of future cooperation and agreed to maintain a consistent dialogue.

As a result of the negotiations, an agreement was reached to prepare and sign a Memorandum of Understanding.
