Uzbekistan and the EU complete negotiations on the services sector as part of WTO Accession

Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) — Uzbekistan has held negotiations with the European Union on its accession to the World Trade Organization (WTO). This was announced by the Special Representative of the President for WTO Issues, Azizbek Urunov, on his LinkedIn account.
"This week in Brussels, we had productive bilateral negotiations with EU representatives regarding our WTO accession," Urunov noted.
According to him, the parties successfully concluded discussions on the section concerning the services sector. "Ahead of us is the work on the goods section, and we intend to complete this process in the coming months," he added.
Furthermore, during the meeting with the leadership of the Directorate-General for Trade and Economic Security, EU representatives reaffirmed their full support for Uzbekistan's accession to the WTO by the 14th Ministerial Conference, which will be held in Cameroon in 2026.
"Today, we are heading to Geneva!" Urunov concluded.
