Uzbekistan and Slovenia agree to implement major projects in energy and infrastructure

Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) — On 9 May, during a visit by a Working Group to Slovenia, Deputy Minister of Investments, Industry and Trade of the Republic of Uzbekistan Akram Aliev held a series of meetings and negotiations with the heads of leading Slovenian companies in the city of Ljubljana.

During the meetings, agreements were reached on the implementation of new projects in sectors such as pharmaceuticals, energy, the chemical industry, infrastructure construction, and agriculture.

Key initiatives include the establishment of contract manufacturing for pharmaceutical products, the construction of an indoor football arena and aviation hangars, the launch of small-scale micro-hydroelectric power plants, and the development of projects focused on food storage and the production of agricultural machinery and components.

As part of the visit, the delegation toured the facilities of Kontron, a company specializing in telecommunications, industrial electronics, and internet-based solutions. The delegation was introduced to the company’s production capabilities and technologies.

Agreements were also reached to expand cooperation and develop the specifics of joint projects within the framework of a business forum scheduled to take place on 22 May 2025.
