Uzbekistan and Slovakia to Hold First Intergovernmental Commission Meeting
Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) — On 11 April, a meeting was held at the Ministry of Investments, Industry, and Trade of Uzbekistan with the Ambassador of Slovakia, Viktor Boretsky.
The sides discussed enhancing trade and economic ties and preparing for the first meeting of the Intergovernmental Commission on Economic Cooperation.
As of 2024, trade turnover between the two countries has increased by 30%. The structure of exports and imports includes textiles, food products, rubber technical products, auto parts, machinery, and optical equipment.
In Uzbekistan, 19 companies with Slovak capital operate in sectors such as IT, education, logistics, construction, metallurgy, and healthcare.
The parties discussed launching joint projects and developing cooperation in machine engineering, automotive manufacturing, chemistry, pharmaceuticals, energy, agriculture, and IT. They also agreed on steps to organize business missions and expand cooperation in tourism, science, and education.
The meeting participants confirmed their readiness to hold the first meeting of the commission, which will be a significant step in strengthening bilateral economic relations.
