Uzbekistan and Poland discuss expansion of economic cooperation

Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) — On 24 February, Deputy Minister of Economy and Finance of Uzbekistan Ilkhomjon Umrzakov held a meeting with a Polish delegation led by Deputy Minister of Development and Technology of Poland, Michal Jaros.

The Polish delegation included the Deputy Minister of State Assets, the Deputy Chairman of the Office for Medicinal Products, the Business Ombudsman, the President of the Investment and Trade Agency, as well as leading experts from relevant institutions and business circles in Poland.

The negotiations focused on strengthening and expanding economic and trade ties between the two countries.

The parties discussed a wide range of mutually beneficial areas of cooperation, including privatization, the banking sector, the pharmaceutical industry, geology, and other fields. The Polish side expressed its willingness to share its expertise with Uzbekistan in these areas.

Additionally, Uzbekistan showed interest in studying Poland’s experience in regional development and energy efficiency improvements.

At the conclusion of the meeting, the Polish representatives expressed a strong interest in investing in various sectors of Uzbekistan’s economy, establishing joint ventures, and implementing advanced technologies. These initiatives are expected to contribute to job creation and enhance the competitiveness of both economies.

This meeting marked an important step in strengthening bilateral relations and opened new opportunities for deeper cooperation, fostering sustainable economic growth and improving the quality of life in both countries.
