Uzbekistan and Oman Strengthen Cooperation in Employment and Workforce Development
Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) — Uzbekistan’s Minister of Employment and Poverty Reduction, Botir Zakhidov, held a meeting with Mahad Baawain, Minister of Labour of the Sultanate of Oman.
The talks focused on expanding bilateral cooperation in labor relations and employment.
The Uzbek side provided a detailed overview of the Ministry’s activities and outlined current policy priorities in the labor market. Particular attention was given to developing and implementing joint projects between vocational and technical institutions of both countries.
Discussions emphasized the exchange of experience, training of qualified specialists in professions in demand in Oman, and the introduction of digital solutions in the employment sector.
Both parties expressed mutual interest in creating legal and decent working conditions for Uzbek citizens employed in Oman. In this context, they discussed mechanisms to ensure the protection of labor rights and social security for workers.
At the conclusion of the meeting, the parties agreed to sign a memorandum of cooperation between the respective ministries, which will serve as a foundation for strengthening institutional ties and practical collaboration in the future.
