Uzbekistan and Oman Discuss Cooperation in Migration Sphere
Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) — Talks were held at the Republican Center for Professional Skills between the leadership of the Migration Agency under the Cabinet of Ministers of the Republic of Uzbekistan and a delegation from the Sultanate of Oman led by Minister of Labour Mahad Said Baawain.
During the meeting, the two sides analyzed the current opportunities for cooperation in the field of migration. It was noted that Oman accepts a significant number of foreign workers relative to its own population and adheres to clearly established government regulations in this area.
The Omani labor market has a high demand for specialists in construction, logistics, domestic services, drivers, doctors, and technical personnel.
“In our country’s labor market, 240,000 jobs are created annually, of which 200,000 are allocated for foreign nationals. The key issue is the qualifications and practical skills of the specialists. We strictly enforce labor rights, but for effective oversight, bilateral agreements are extremely important,” emphasized Oman’s Minister of Labour Mahad Said Baawain.
As a result of the negotiations, the two sides agreed to develop a memorandum of cooperation between Uzbekistan and Oman.
