Uzbekistan and Malaysia intensify cooperation in the field of peaceful nuclear energy

Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) — On 12 May 2025, a working meeting was held at the Agency for Atomic Energy under the Cabinet of Ministers of the Republic of Uzbekistan between the Director of the Agency, Azim Akhmedkhadjaev, and a delegation from the Ministry of Energy Transition and Water Resources Transformation of Malaysia, headed by the Secretary General, Dato Haji Mad Zaydi Mohd Karli.

During the negotiations, the prospects for bilateral cooperation in the peaceful use of nuclear energy and nuclear technologies were discussed in detail. The parties focused on issues related to the training of highly qualified personnel, strengthening scientific and technical cooperation, and implementing joint innovative projects in the nuclear industry.

At the end of the meeting, mutual interest in developing the partnership was confirmed, and an agreement was reached to continue joint work on developing practical mechanisms for cooperation. In particular, initiatives aimed at professional experience exchange, expanding scientific potential, and conducting expert consultations on key areas of cooperation were discussed.

The Uzatom Agency and the Ministry of Energy Transition and Water Resources Transformation of Malaysia expressed confidence that further cooperation would contribute to the successful implementation of mutually beneficial projects and strengthen international ties in the field of nuclear energy.
