Uzbekistan and Kyrgyzstan to launch joint production of medical products
Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) — Uzbekistan and Kyrgyzstan are set to establish joint production of medical products in the Bishkek Free Economic Zone. This was announced by the Uzbek-Kyrgyz Development Fund (UKDF).
The project was discussed during a meeting between representatives of the fund and a delegation from the Agency for Pharmaceutical Industry Development and the Ministry of Health of the Republic of Uzbekistan. The production facilities will be organized by the company "Sunride," and the main consumers of the products will be medical institutions in Kyrgyzstan, such as hospitals and clinics.
The UKDF will provide consulting support for the project, focusing on attracting investments and working out financing conditions.
To date, Uzbekistan and Kyrgyzstan have implemented 14 joint projects in the healthcare sector.
