Uzbekistan and Kyrgyzstan Intensify Cooperation in Energy and Transport
Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) — President of Uzbekistan Shavkat Mirziyoyev held talks with the Chairman of the Cabinet of Ministers of Kyrgyzstan, Adylbek Kasymaliev, on the sidelines of the Tashkent Investment Forum.
At the beginning of the meeting, the Kyrgyz guest conveyed warm greetings and best wishes to the Uzbek leader from President of Kyrgyzstan Sadyr Japarov.
During the discussion, the two sides explored prospects for further strengthening Uzbek-Kyrgyz relations within the framework of a comprehensive strategic partnership. Special attention was given to increasing trade turnover, developing industrial cooperation, enhancing interregional ties, and expanding cultural and humanitarian collaboration.
A central topic of the talks was the acceleration of major regional infrastructure projects, including the construction of the Kambarata-1 Hydropower Plant and the China–Kyrgyzstan–Uzbekistan railway corridor.
Both sides emphasized the importance of thorough preparation for the upcoming events scheduled for this year, including the next meeting of the Intergovernmental Commission and the Forum of Regional Leaders of the two countries.
