Uzbekistan and Kazakhstan Strengthen Cooperation in Mining and Geology
Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) — On 24 June 2025, the Ministry of Mining Industry and Geology of the Republic of Uzbekistan hosted a meeting attended by Deputy Minister Ravshan Yusupov, senior ministry officials, and a Kazakh delegation led by Idris Sharkan, Deputy Minister of Construction and Industry of the Republic of Kazakhstan.
During the meeting, representatives from Kazakhstan praised the high level of organization of the ongoing Minex Central Asia 2025 international forum in Tashkent. According to them, the event clearly demonstrates the priority Uzbekistan places on the development of geology and the mining sector.
In his remarks, Deputy Minister R. Yusupov emphasized the steady development of friendly relations between the two countries and expressed strong interest in further expanding practical cooperation in geological exploration and industrial collaboration. He also highlighted the importance of intensifying joint efforts in experience sharing, technology transfer, and the implementation of mutually beneficial projects.
Following the talks, the guests visited the University of Geological Sciences, where they were introduced to the institution’s academic and research programs in geology. They also toured the State Museum of Geology, whose exhibits trace the centuries-long history of subsurface exploration in Uzbekistan.
The meeting marked another important step toward deepening bilateral cooperation and expanding strategic partnerships in a critical sector.
