Uzbekistan and Hungary agree to cooperate in the field of nuclear energy

Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) — Uzbekistan and Hungary have agreed to expand cooperation in the field of nuclear energy.

During President Shavkat Mirziyoyev’s official visit to Hungary, an Agreement on Cooperation and a Memorandum of Understanding were signed between Uzbekistan’s Uzatom Agency and the Hungarian state-owned company MVM EGI Zrt.

The agreement outlines plans for joint scientific research, the development and implementation of advanced technological solutions, the supply and application of dry cooling systems for nuclear power plants, the localization of relevant technologies, the creation of necessary infrastructure, and the organization of professional training and upskilling programs for specialists.

The memorandum, in turn, lays the foundation for a stable and mutually beneficial long-term partnership. It defines mechanisms for cooperation in implementing nuclear power plant construction projects in Uzbekistan.

Founded in 1948, MVM EGI Zrt. is a leading player in the energy sector in Hungary and beyond. The company specializes in the development of water-saving cooling systems and has successfully deployed its technologies at thousands of facilities worldwide, ensuring reliability and energy efficiency.
