Uzbekistan and Envirol discuss plans to build Central Asia’s first waste-to-biofuel plant

Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) — On 13 May, Laziz Kudratov, Minister of Investments, Industry and Trade of the Republic of Uzbekistan, held talks with a delegation from Envirol (UAE), led by the company’s CEO, Elham Pourtangestani.

Founded in 2006 in Dubai, Envirol is a joint venture with the emirate’s government and specializes in the recycling of used oil. The plant’s daily processing capacity exceeds 500,000 liters. Envirol operates under the umbrella of the Alserkal Group holding.

During the meeting, the two sides discussed prospects for constructing the first waste-to-biofuel plant in Central Asia, to be located in Uzbekistan. This project would mark a significant step forward in developing a green economy and implementing sustainable environmental solutions across the region.

Specific measures were also outlined to ensure the successful and timely realization of the initiative.

Representatives of the company expressed their readiness to establish a long-term partnership and actively participate in expanding environmental and industrial projects in Uzbekistan.
