Uzbekistan and China sign agreements to build 1,500 MW wind and solar power plants
Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) — Chinese companies will build wind and solar power plants in two regions of Uzbekistan as part of the country’s transition to a green economy. The agreements were signed during the First Samarkand International Climate Forum, recently concluded in Samarkand.
The Ministry of Investment, Industry and Trade of Uzbekistan concluded several agreements aimed at promoting sustainable energy development.
One of the key documents is an investment agreement for the construction of a 1,000 MW wind power plant in the Republic of Karakalpakstan. The project partner is SANY Renewables International Investment Co., Ltd.
Another investment agreement was signed with China Electrical Equipment International Company Limited to build a 500 MW solar power plant in Farish district of Jizzakh region.
