Uzbekistan Airways Expands Fleet: New Airbus A321neo Aircraft to Arrive in 2026
Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) — In 2026, the national airline Uzbekistan Airways will expand its fleet with the addition of two modern narrow-body Airbus A321neo aircraft, the airline’s press service has announced. The new aircraft will be delivered under a leasing agreement with China Aircraft Leasing Group Holdings Limited (CALC).
Both aircraft are expected to be configured with 16 business class seats featuring full flat-bed functionality and 156 economy class seats. The cabin will be designed according to Airbus’s latest Airspace Premium concept, offering improved sound insulation, larger overhead compartments, increased personal space, and advanced LED lighting.
Passengers will benefit from in-flight Wi-Fi and individual entertainment systems, providing a wide selection of movies, music, games, and real-time route information via personal screens.
The airline emphasizes that the Airbus A321neo is one of the most technologically advanced aircraft in its category, known for its fuel efficiency, extended flight range, and low noise levels — making it especially suitable for both medium- and long-haul routes.
In the longer term, Uzbekistan Airways also plans to acquire 14 wide-body Boeing 787-8 Dreamliner aircraft valued at approximately US$2 billion. A memorandum of understanding with Boeing is expected to be signed later this year, with deliveries scheduled between 2029 and 2032.
Additionally, between 2028 and 2030, the airline anticipates the arrival of 14 more Airbus aircraft, ordered following the official visit of the President of Uzbekistan to France. Uzbekistan Airways has already begun partial payment on the contract using its own financial resources.
