Uzbek, Turkmen leaders sign cooperation accords

During his visit to Ashgabat on 18 October, Uzbek President Islam Karimov signed the following documents with his Turkmen counterpart, Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedow, as reported by Uzbek TV the same day:

"An interstate agreement on further strengthening friendly relations and comprehensive cooperation;

An interstate agreement on economic cooperation for 2012 and a programme for this;

A joint Uzbek-Turkmen communique."
