Uzbek referees to officiate at the 2025 FIFA U-17 World Cup
Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) — A team of Uzbek referees led by Rustam Lutfullin will take part in the 2025 FIFA U-17 World Cup, the Uzbekistan Football Association has announced.
The refereeing team also includes Sanjar Shoyusupov and Akmal Giyosov.
The U-17 World Cup will be held in Qatar from 3 to 27 November 2025. For the first time in history, the tournament will feature 48 teams and, starting in 2025, will be held annually. Twenty-four teams that finish in the top two of the 12 groups, along with the eight best third-placed teams, will advance to the round of 16.
The Uzbekistan national U-17 team will also compete, having secured their place in the final stage by winning the AFC U-17 Asian Cup.
The Uzbek youngsters have been drawn into Group J, where they will face Paraguay, Panama, and Ireland.
They will open their group stage campaign against Paraguay on November 5, followed by a match against Ireland on November 8, before concluding with a game against Panama on November 11.
