RIA Novosti reported quoting source in the government of Uzbekistan that the sides signed a memorandum of understanding on organization of transmission production in September. The sides started to prepare the project.
The source said that he sides are planning to develop feasibility study of the project by the end of 2013 and after that they will start to discuss further steps of its implementation.
The estimated project cost is US$150 million. The plant will produce 250,000 units of transmissions and other component of engines a year. The project will be implemented within three years.
If the sides sign constituent agreement on new enterprise, it will be third joint venture of GM in Uzbekistan.
