Urumqi delegation discusses joint technopark project with Uzbekistan
Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) — On 26 February, Uzbekistan’s Deputy Minister of Investments, Industry, and Trade, Ilzat Kasimov, held negotiations with a Chinese delegation led by Yang Hongmei, President of the Urumqi Chamber of Foreign Trade.
The meeting focused on expanding bilateral cooperation and implementing joint projects in key industries, including energy, automotive manufacturing, urban development, and tourism. Special attention was given to the prospects of establishing a joint technopark that would house production enterprises specializing in advanced technologies.
An agreement was reached to involve several innovative Chinese companies, particularly small and medium-sized enterprises, in the project. Their participation is expected to provide additional momentum for the development of joint initiatives.
The Urumqi Chamber of Foreign Trade represents 49 companies operating in various sectors, including trade, medicine, culture, education, tourism, mining, food production, and infrastructure construction. Its primary mission is to facilitate international partnerships for businesses from the Xinjiang Uyghur Autonomous Region and other provinces of China.
