Two Passenger Buses Collide in Tashkent: One Person Injured
Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) — A traffic accident involving two passenger buses occurred in Tashkent, resulting in one person being injured.
According to the press service of JSC “Toshshaharttranskhizmat,” the incident took place on 22 August at around 14:45 on Mukimi Street in the Yakkasaray district of the capital. A Yutong bus operating on route No. 18, assigned to the 5th bus depot, failed to maintain a safe distance and collided with another bus of the same model from the same depot traveling ahead.
The driver of the vehicle, 51-year-old R.M., has 25 years of driving experience. Preliminary reports indicate that one passenger from the first bus, 19-year-old M.O., sustained a minor injury — a forehead abrasion — and subsequently sought medical attention.
According to eyewitness reports, the number of people injured in the accident is significantly higher than the official figures.
Both buses sustained technical damage. An official investigation into the accident is currently underway.
