Turnover of Uzbekistan’s Transparent Taxi Market Surpasses 5 Trillion Soums in 7 Months

Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) — From January to July 2025, the turnover of Uzbekistan’s transparent taxi market exceeded 5 trillion soums, according to the State Tax Committee of Uzbekistan.

During this period, a total of 262.2 million rides were completed through 215 aggregator platforms integrated with the tax authority’s information systems — a notable increase compared to 155 aggregators in 2024.

Of the total turnover, 3.6 trillion soums — or 72.2% — came from cash payments, while 1.4 trillion soums — or 27.8% — were non-cash transactions. The average cost of a single trip reached 19,077 soums, slightly up from 18,456 soums in 2024.

Roughly 457,300 self-employed drivers are registered with these aggregator services. Of them, 257,629 drivers (56.3%) are between the ages of 30 and 50, 166,207 (36.3%) are under 30, and 33,477 (7.3%) are over 50. The system also includes 3,480 female drivers.

Drivers’ earnings over the seven-month period were distributed as follows: 1,800 individuals earned over 100 million soums, 19,100 earned between 50 and 100 million soums, 113,700 earned between 10 and 50 million soums, 59,400 earned between 5 and 10 million soums, 122,800 earned between 1 and 5 million soums, and 140,200 earned less than 1 million soums.

The most commonly used vehicles remain the Cobalt (23.5%), Nexia (21.5%), and Lacetti (16.9%). Electric vehicles account for 1.8% of the fleet.

The age of the vehicles is distributed as follows: 2.1% are less than one year old, 16.4% are between one and three years, 42.5% are between three and five years, 11.3% are between five and ten years, and 27.7% are over ten years old.

Over the seven-month period, aggregator platforms transferred 98.8 billion soums in taxes to the state budget, of which 55.4 billion came from value-added tax (VAT).
