“Transport of the Future” to launch civilian drone production in Uzbekistan by end of 2025
Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) — Russian unmanned aerial systems (UAS) developer “Transport of the Future” will establish a facility in Uzbekistan for the production of civilian drones by the end of 2025. The announcement was made by the company’s CEO, Yuri Kozarenko, during the plenary session of the “INNOPROM. Central Asia” international industrial exhibition.
According to Kozarenko, market analysis shows that tens of thousands of drones can be effectively integrated into the economy today, offering high profitability. The joint venture being built in Uzbekistan is expected to reach a production value of over $100 million in its first phase. At this stage, the company plans to achieve 50% localization, including design, manufacturing, and drone operation within Uzbekistan.
For successful drone deployment, substantial cooperation is needed with Russia’s Federal Air Transport Agency and Uzbekistan’s Civil Aviation Agency (Uzaviatsiya), Kozarenko emphasized. He noted that efforts are already underway to create an infrastructure that ensures both safety and cost-effectiveness in drone usage.
Kozarenko also supported the idea of forming a joint scientific and technical council on unmanned systems. Such a council would not only focus on technology localization but also on developing new approaches in science and education. He stressed the importance of effective education and the need for businesses to invest in human capital development.
“Transport of the Future” is offering Uzbekistan collaboration on projects in which Russia not only transfers technology but also gains access to local innovations and finished products.
