Trade leads in number of newly established small businesses
Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) — According to the National Statistics Committee, from January to March 2025, a total of 19,212 small business entities were registered in the country, excluding farms and dehkan households.
Compared to the same period in 2024, this figure increased by 1.4%, indicating a sustained positive trend in the development of small businesses.
An analysis of the distribution of newly established entities by economic sector shows that the largest share falls within the trade sector:
Trade – 7,253 entities
Agriculture, forestry, and fishing – 2,631 entities
Industry – 2,310 entities
Accommodation and food services – 1,618 entities
Construction – 1,108 entities
Information and communication – 741 entities
Transportation and storage – 620 entities
Healthcare and social services – 360 entities
Other sectors – 2,571 entities
Thus, the trade sector remains the key area driving the development of small entrepreneurship in the country.
