Three Border Checkpoints in Fergana Region to Switch to 24/7 Operation
Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) — Starting from 18 June 2025, three border checkpoints located in Uzbekistan’s Fergana region will operate around the clock, the regional hokimiyat’s press service reports.
The checkpoints affected are Vodil–Kadamjay and Okkiya–Akkiya (serving the direction of Shahimardan village), as well as Chashma–Chechme on the border with the Sokh district.
The move is aimed at facilitating cross-border movement between Uzbekistan and Kyrgyzstan, reducing queues, and improving convenience for local residents. The transition to a 24-hour schedule is also expected to create favorable conditions for boosting trade and tourism between neighboring areas.
Local authorities highlight that this measure is particularly timely ahead of the summer season, as the Shahimardan and Sokh destinations are traditionally popular among citizens of both countries.
