Thermal Power Plants JSC Summarizes Performance for First Half of 2025
Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) — Joint Stock Company "Thermal Power Plants" has published its key performance results for the first six months of 2025. According to the report, the company generated 14.38 billion kWh of electricity during this period—101.5% of the planned volume.
As part of the implementation of 17 investment projects, a total of US$701.93 million is scheduled to be utilized in 2025. In the first half of the year, US$286.85 million was actually invested, exceeding the target by 21.7%.
Notable initiatives include the launch of a modern cogeneration plant in the Bogbon mahalla of Tashkent’s Sergeli district, and the construction of new generating capacities: a 100 MW gas-piston plant in the Yunusabad district, a 900 MW combined-cycle plant at the Talimarjan TPP, and a 650 MW combined-cycle unit at the Navoi TPP.
Special attention has been paid to reducing production costs. Optimization measures implemented between January and June 2025 resulted in savings of 592.2 billion soums—112.8% of the planned figure.
Ahead of the autumn-winter season, scheduled major, medium, and routine maintenance work is underway at 35 energy facilities. As of now, repairs have been completed at 15 of them. Upon completion of the campaign, installed capacity is expected to increase by 89 MW and boiler unit productivity by 45 tons per hour.
Under the localization program, 19 projects have delivered products worth 36.5 billion soums —109% of the planned volume. The development of local solutions and cooperative ties has helped reduce imports by US$11.9 million.
