The number of victims of COVID-19 in the world exceeds 5 million

Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) - The number of victims of the coronavirus has exceeded 5 million. Since the beginning of the pandemic, more than 5,071,100 people have died from COVID-19 in the world. This information was posted on the Worldometer website, BelTA reported.

The total number of coronavirus cases on the planet is 251,081,245. Over the entire time of the COVID-19 pandemic, more than 227.3 million infected people have recovered. 

Most cases of infection were recorded in the United States - over 47.4 million (776.2 thousand died, 37.4 million recovered). In second place is India - more than 33.3 million (461.3 thousand died, 33.7 million recovered).

The third place belongs to Brazil - more than 21.8 million (609.6 thousand died, almost 21.1 million recovered).
